Dr. John Harutunian

Dr. John Harutunian began as a Principal of the Oak Hill Middle School in the summer of 2013. He has worked in education for 17 years. He began his education career working at the American School of Quito in Ecuador as a middle school English and Social Studies teacher. When he returned to Massachusetts, he became the Department head of the ESL/Bilingual program at Fuller Middle School and more recently served as assistant principal at Robert Adams Middle School in Holliston for five years. John earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, a Master of Arts degree from the University of Alabama and a Doctorate degree in Educational Administration from Boston College.

Dr. Jamin Bercaw

Team 6-2, 6-3 and 8th Grade

Dr. Jamin Bercaw was appointed as Assistant Principal at Oak Hill Middle School in November 2014. Prior to his appointment, he had served as the 8-2 social studies teacher at Oak Hill since January 2011 and as interim Assistant Principal from January-June 2014. He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at Illinois Wesleyan University as a double major in History and Political Science. He completed a Master of Science in Education degree at Eastern Illinois University while working as a substitute teacher, banker, and local government employee. Dr. Bercaw has taught high school and middle school social studies in Illinois; Washington, D.C.; and Tennessee prior to his move to Massachusetts. He holds a Master of Arts in History from Salem State University and completed a Doctor of Education degree in K-12 Educational Leadership and Policy at Vanderbilt University, Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee.

Ms. Fiona Healy

Teams 6-1 and 7th Grade

Fiona Healy began as Assistant Principal of Oak Hill Middle School in September 2015. Prior to joining Oak Hill she spent 14 years working for Cambridge Public Schools as a middle school math teacher and instructional coach. Fiona holds a BA degree from Saint Anselm College and a Master's in Education from Endicott College. She is also a graduate of EDCO's Educators Leadership Institute.

Ms. Nicole Franchi

Assistant Principal for Student Services

Nicole Franchi will serve as the Assistant Principal of Student Services in an interim role for next year. Nicole has been a special educator at Newton North High School since 2013. Nicole holds a Master's Degree in Special Education from Lesley University and completed the Education Leadership Initiative program this year. Nicole has experience supporting a wide range of student needs.

Gayathri comes to Oak Hill Middle school from the Education Centre after having worked for 3 years in ELL and Teaching & Learning Department as Admin Assistant and other roles. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from Madras University in India and has completed her graduate studies in Computer Science.
